From the Kitchen

Cooked to order on the same griddle, plated the same way it has been for years.

Inside the diner: a long counter with red stools running the length of the car, wooden booths on the right and the original barrel ceiling overhead.

Some diners are built to look old. Ours is the real thing.

The Yankee Diner is an original Worcester Lunch Car, one of the barrel-roofed dining cars hand-built in Worcester, Massachusetts, back when a hot breakfast and a cup of coffee were how a day got started.

It has carried a few different names and more than a few owners, and it even went quiet for a stretch. The little diner that refused to disappear is still here, still cooking everything from scratch. Pull up a stool and you are not just getting breakfast, you are sitting inside a piece of New England history.
